In Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023), our beloved band of misfits are looking a bit different these days. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.
About the filmmaker:
James Gunn is an American film writer and director as well as an actor, novelist, musician, and lifelong genre fan. He began his filmmaking career at Troma Studios where he wrote and produced Tromeo and Juliet (1996) with Lloyd Kaufman. He made his directorial debut with Slither (2006), and his other features include Super (2010) and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy films. In 2022, Warner Bros. Discovery hired Gunn to become co-chairmen and co-CEO of DC Studios alongside Peter Safran. Among other projects, he created, wrote and directed the HBO Max original series Peacemaker (2022).
