About the film:
In a tiny community enclosed by wheat fields, the adults shelter indoors, while six children venture out on their bikes across the scorched, deserted countryside. Exploring a dilapidated and uninhabited farmhouse, nine-year-old Michele discovers a secret so momentous, so terrible, that he dares not tell anyone about it…

About the filmmaker:
Gabriele Salvatores is an Italian director, screenwriter, and producer known for winning the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film for Mediterraneo (1991). He began his career in theater, co-founding the Teatro dell’Elfo in Milan in 1972, before transitioning to film. Salvatores is also known for films like Marrakech Express (1989) and Puerto Escondido (1992), and is recognized for his recurring themes of escape and his frequent collaboration with actors like Diego Abatantuono.
