About the filmmaker:
Deon Taylor is an American filmmaker who has written, co-written and directed dozens of films, TV series and special projects. He founded the independent film label Hidden Empire Film Group alongside partner and producer Roxanne Avent Taylor and investor Robert F. Smith, and launched Hidden Empire Releasing in 2021 with the goal of developing multicultural content for underserved audiences. Taylor’s feature films include Supremacy (2014), based on true events of a Black family taken hostage by a neo-Nazi, the horror parody Meet the Blacks (2016), action thriller Black and Blue (2019), thriller Fatale (2020), and psychological horror Fear (2023). Taylor is also the creator and executive producer of the video podcast series Be Woke (2018).
