About the film:

Demon Slayer: To The Hashira Training (2024) will feature “A Connected Bond: Daybreak and First Light” (Episode 11) from the Swordsmith Village Arc, featuring the conclusion of the fierce battle between Tanjiro and Upper Four demon Hantengu, as well as Nezuko’s triumph over the sun. Seamlessly followed by Episode 1 of the highly anticipated Hashira Training Arc, featuring the start of training conducted by the Hashira in preparation for the forthcoming final battle against Muzan Kibutsuji, an episode never before seen by audiences.

The Film Center will present select screenings of Demon Slayer: To The Hashira Training (2024in Japanese with English subtitles (showtimes will be marked as “subbed”). The Japanese voice cast includes Natsuki Hanae, Akari Kitō, Kengo Kawanishi, Nobuhiko Okamoto, Hiro Shimono, Tomokazu Sugita, and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka.

About the filmmakers:

Haruo Sotozaki is a Japanese animator and film director who has worked in the industry for over twenty-five years. His previous credits includes key animator on Cowboy Bebop: The Movie and episodes of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and animation director on Tales of Zestiria the X and the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba series. He made his feature directorial debut in 2004 with the anime adaptation of Ninja Nonsense, and in 2020, he directed Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train which earned numerous awards including Animation of the Year at the 44th Japan Academy Film Prize.

Story by Demon Slayer writer and creator Koyoharu Gotōge with screenplay and production by Ufotable, the Japanese animation studio also responsible for the gorgeously animated God Eater and Fate/stay franchise.
