About the filmmaker:
John Boorman is an England born Producer, Director, and Writer. Before he landed in the film industry, Boorman worked as a critic for a women’s journal at a radio station, and then the television business. As an assistant at BBC, he worked his way up to direct documentaries and then through the utilization of his network he landed in Hollywood. Boorman is most known for Excalibur (1981), The Emerald Forest (1985), and Hope and Glory (1987). Boorman’s film Deliverance (1972) received three Academy Award nominations in 1973 for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Film Editing.
