About the filmmaker:
Rupert Goold is a two-time Olivier Award-winning director and the Artistic Director of the Almeida Theatre. As a filmmaker, he directed the first episode of the award-winning 2012 mini-series Hollow Crown and made his feature film debut with True Story (2015). His other films include the live stage performances Richard III (2016), the BAFTA-nominated BBC movie King Charles III (2017), and the feature film Judy (2019), which earned Renée Zellweger numerous accolades including the Academy Award for Best Actress. Goold was previously Artistic Director of Headlong Theatre from 2005 to 2013, Associate Director at the Royal Shakespeare Company from 2009 to 2012, and Artistic Director of Northampton Theatres from 2002 to 2005.
