About the filmmaker:
David Fincher is an American filmmaker known for his intricate psychological thrillers. His films have received over forty Academy Award nominations, including Best Director for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008), The Social Network (2010) and Mank (2020). His other projects include his breakout hit Se7en (1995) and follow-up The Game (1997), cult classic Fight Club (1999), topical thriller Panic Room (2000), Palme d’Or nominated Zodiac (2007), the critically acclaimed The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) and Gone Girl (2014), and the Netflix series Mindhunter (2017–2019). Although known for his feature films, Fincher evolved his filmmaking style crafting award-winning music videos, including Madonna’s “Vogue” in 1990—frequently cited as one of the best videos of all time—and the Grammy Award-winning videos for “Love Is Strong” by the Rolling Stones (1994) and “Suit & Tie” by Justin Timberlake featuring Jay-Z (2013).
