About the filmmaker:
Bill Paxton was an American actor and filmmaker born and raised in Texas. He acted in more than sixty films, including starring roles in acclaimed features like Aliens (1986), Near Dark (1987), Tombstone (1993), True Lies (1994), Apollo 13 (1995), Twister (1996), and A Simple Plan (1998). In television, he earned three Golden Globe Award nominations for role in HBO’s 2006-2011 series Big Love and a Primetime Emmy Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award for portraying Randall McCoy in the History channel’s series Hatfields & McCoys (2012). His work behind the camera includes directing the feature films Frailty (2002) and The Greatest Game Ever Played (2005) and producing the feature films Traveller (1997), which premiered at SXSW, and Parkland (2013), which competed for the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival.
