About the filmmaker:
Hannah Pearl Utt is an actress, writer and director from Santa Barbara, California. She is best known for creating, directing, writing, and starring in the series Disengaged (2015-2016) with fellow writer-director Jen Tullock. Following their work on Disengaged, Utt and Tullock collaborated again on the short film Partners (2016), which premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. In 2017, Utt was selected for the inaugural Sundance Catalyst Women initiative and the 2017 Sundance Directors and Screenwriters Lab. In 2018, she received an Adrienne Shelly Foundation Women Filmmakers Grant, allowing her to direct her debut feature, Before You Know It (2019). Her most most recent film, Cora Bora (2024), premiered at the 2023 SXSW Film Festival.
