In the late 1990s, a family of six settles into their new home on Vancouver Island, as internal dynamics are slowly revealed through the experiences of the youngest child, Sasha. Their fresh start is interrupted by the increasingly dangerous behavior of Jeremy, the family’s oldest child.

Sophy Romvari is a Canadian filmmaker, writer, and actress known for her intimate, memory-driven storytelling and hybrid approach to fiction and documentary. After gaining attention for her acclaimed short films, including Still Processing (2020), which screened widely and earned industry recognition, she made her feature debut with Blue Heron (2026), a semi-autobiographical drama that premiered at the Locarno Film Festival, where it won the Swatch First Feature Award.
Romvari’s work often explores family, identity, and the fragility of memory, establishing her as a distinctive and rising voice in contemporary independent cinema.
