World Premiere, 2024 Cannes Film Festival. Bailey lives with her brother Hunter and her father Bug, who raises them alone in a squat in northern Kent. Bug doesn’t have much time to devote to them. Bailey looks for attention and adventure elsewhere. Starring Barry Keoghan, Franz Rogowski, and newcomer Nykiya Adams.

About the filmmaker:
English director and writer Andrea Arnold won the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film for Wasp in 2005. Her debut feature Red Road won the Jury Prize at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival, and her second feature Fish Tank won the Jury Prize in 2009. In 2011, she directed an adaptation of Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights, which won Best Cinematography at the Venice International Film Festival. Her 2016 film American Honey was nominated for numerous awards, including a BAFTA and six Film Independent Spirit Awards. Arnold has directed series including episodes of Amazon Studio’s Transparent and HBO’s Big Little Lies, and the feature length documentary, Cow (2022).
Bird (2024) is Arnold’s latest feature, premiering at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival where it was nominated for the Palme d’Or.
