About the filmmaker:
Mel Eslyn is a veteran producer making her feature directorial debut with the buddy comedy Biosphere (2023). Eslyn is president of Duplass Brothers Productions, and has produced some of the company’s most acclaimed films and TV projects including their anthology series Room 104 (2017-2020), documentary series The Lady and the Dale (2021), the Indie-Spirit winner 7 Days (2021), The One I Love (2014), and Language Lessons (2021). She collaborated on and produced a number of the late Lynn Shelton’s films, including the Toronto Film Festival selections Your Sister’s Sister (2011) and Outside In (2017). In 2016, Piaget won the emerging Producers Award at the 31st Independent Spirit Awards.
Produced by the Duplass Brothers, Biosphere (2022) was co-written by Eslyn and Mark Duplass, who also stars.
