About the filmmaker:
Jeff L. Lieberman is an award-winning journalist, producer and filmmaker and the founder of Re-Emerging Films. His most recent documentary Bella! (2023) profiles the trailblazing congresswoman, Bella Abzug and is the winner of the 2022 Library of Congress Lavine/Ken Burns Prize for Film. His previous films include the documentaries The Amazing Nina Simone (2015) and Re-Emerging: The Jews of Nigeria (2012). Among other work, Lieberman recently served as a Senior Producer at CNN, leading a team through producing the documentary Taking on Taylor Swift, which was nominated for a 2023 News and Documentary Emmy. He has also directed many short films and was previously a CBS News Producer and a Video Reporter for The New York Post.
