About the filmmaker:
Don Hertzfeldt is an American animator, writer, and filmmaker known for his independent animated films like World of Tomorrow, It’s Such a Beautiful Day, and Rejected. He’s a two-time Academy Award nominee and has won numerous awards, including the Sundance Film Festival’s Grand Jury Prize for Short Film twice, a feat no other filmmaker has achieved. Hertzfeldt’s work is characterized by its unique minimalist aesthetic, often using hand-drawn, squiggly line drawings, and exploring themes of existentialism, philosophy, and humor.
