About the film:

At a 1962 College, Dean Vernon Wormer is determined to expel the entire Delta Tau Chi Fraternity, but those troublemakers have other plans for him.

Inspired by stories written for the National Lampoon magazine, this low-budget film came out of nowhere to become the highest grossing comedy ever at the time and helped launch the careers Kevin Bacon, Karen Allen, Bruce McGill, Tom Hulce, and Peter Reigert. Now regarded as one of the most quoted and iconic comedy films in history, Animal House (1978) was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry in 2001.

About the filmmaker:

John Landis is an influential American film director, producer, screenwriter and actor whose career spans a range of genres.
