About the film:
In the Occupied West Bank of the 1980s, a Palestinian teenager is swept into a protest that changes the course of his family’s life. Cherien Dabis is a critically acclaimed Palestinian-American filmmaker (director, writer, producer, actress) known for authentic stories on identity, immigration, and Arab-American life, with acclaimed films like Amreeka (Sundance) and TV directing for Only Murders in the Building (Emmy-nominated), Ramy, and Ozark, often drawing from her upbringing in the U.S. and Jordan. She earned her MFA from Columbia University and transitioned from writing The L Word to directing features and acclaimed TV episodes, gaining recognition from Variety as a “Director to Watch”.
