Bill Banowsky is an entrepreneur, filmmaker, and longtime executive in the independent and art-house film world. He founded Magnolia Pictures and later Violet Crown Cinemas (now rebranded in Santa Fe as Sky Cinemas), and has served as CEO of Landmark Theatres. He’s produced and executive produced documentary and narrative films, including Casino Jack and the United States of Money and Starving the Beast. Known for his passion for cinema culture, Banowsky combines business acumen with a commitment to film-exhibition, curation, and bringing diverse, challenging works to revealing audiences. He lives in Santa Fe with his wife, Susan.
