“León has made a meditative thriller, one in which sadness and suspense radiate from every frame. Her work is also an act of reckoning with Peru’s political past – an angry story of the powerful against the powerless.” – Stephen Dalton, Hollywood Reporter
Peruvian writer and director Melina León’s first feature film is based on a true story of child-trafficking in 1980’s Peru. Premiered at the 2019 Cannes Directors’ Fortnight and screened at over 80 international film festivals, the award-winning Song Without a Name will be available to stream in the Film Center’s virtual screening room this August in partnership with Film Movement.
