From visionary director Emerald Fennell comes a delicious new take on revenge.
Everyone said Cassie was a promising young woman… until a mysterious event abruptly derailed her future. But nothing in Cassie’s life is what it appears to be: she’s wickedly smart, tantalizingly cunning, and she’s living a secret double life by night. Now, an unexpected encounter is about to give Cassie a chance to right the wrongs of the past in this thrilling and wildly entertaining story.
About the filmmaker:
Emerald Fennell is a darkly comic screenwriter, director, actor, and novelist whose candid storytelling subverts expectations. She premiered her directorial debut Careful How You Go in the Shorts Competition at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, and in 2019, she was nominated for two Emmy Awards for her work as head writer and executive producer on season two of Killing Eve. Her most recent novel, the adult horror Monsters, was nominated for the Carnegie Medal. She scripted a modern musical adaptation of Cinderella with Andrew Lloyd Webber that is expected to open in 2021, and Warner Bros.’ DC Films tagged her to write the upcoming live-action Zatanna film.
Also an acclaimed actress, Fennell currently plays Camilla Parker Bowles on The Crown. She acted on stage while studying English at Oxford University, and had roles in the Academy Award–nominated films Anna Karenina, The Danish Girl, and Albert Nobbs as well as the BAFTA-winning series Call the Midwife.
