Hola Mexico

Founded in 2008, Hola Mexico Film Festival, the largest Mexican Film Festival outside of Mexico, strives to highlight the best and brightest talents in Mexican cinematography. Spanning comedies, dramas, horror films and documentaries, the Festival showcases high quality films in a festive atmosphere in conjunction with exclusive parties and outdoor concerts. Celebrating its 11th edition, Hola Mexico Film Festival arrives at the Film Center on November 8, 2019 offering film enthusiasts a chance to screen many beloved Mexican films.

Columbus Veterans Film Festival

Gateway Film Center is proud to partner with the Columbus Veterans Administration’s Veterans Arts Initiative in hosting the first annual Columbus Veterans Film Festival.

Aimed at addressing the human experience of our active duty military community, veterans, and their families, admission to all CVFF films and activities is free.

Gateway Film Center is proud to host the Columbus Black International Film Festival on August 24 & 25.

The 2nd Annual Columbus Black International Film Festival will take place August 23-25, 2018. 

The primary objective of the  Columbus Black International Film Festival is to showcase Black filmmakers locally, nationally and internationally while, highlighting a spectrum of stories told by people of the African diaspora.

This festival will also provide an advantage for filmmakers and the community to learn about the film industry through educational workshops and panel discussions, a safe space to showcase film and an opportunity to network with the filmmakers in the city.

Columbus is the heart of America and home to some of the most creative Black filmmakers in the country. This festival will showcase new and emerging talent as well as talent that has represented our city for years.

Young French Cinema

YOUNG FRENCH CINEMA is a program of UniFrance and the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, which aims to bring French films with no US distribution to art house cinemas, film societies, the Alliance Française network, and American universities.

Young French Cinema offers a selection of today’s best French films and filmmakers. The program focuses specifically on rising talents from France, from high-profile independent works, to powerful documentaries and quirky discoveries. This program stands as proof that this young generation of contemporary French filmmakers is—more than ever—a genuine melting pot with a global vision and an amazing capacity to combine cultural influences. Across a wide range of subject matter, their work is innovative in both style and storytelling. Most of the films selected in this program have premiered in the US in one of the top US festivals, but do not currently have US distribution.
